For someone who isn't that big into the settlement stuff and running a lone wanderer character pretty much everything in this dlc is pointless outside of the lacklustre quest chain, which is a bit disappointing. The main reason someone might want to play this is for the robot crafting station, a new settlement building that allows you to construct and customise robotic companions. The quests themselves weren't entirely compelling though at the same time it is nice to have more of a reason to explore the Commonwealth, especially on Survival difficulty, after a while due to lowered respawn rates the world practically becomes a ghost town, so having new Rust Devil and robot encounters shook things up a bit. It feels more like a couple of tacked on quests that lead you to a handful of locations to keep you occupied for a few hours. That reflection lead me to realise that this dlc is fairly mediocre overall, none of it feels like something that was extensively worked on. Either way, though, it will be much easier than romancing Strong.įallout 4 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.5h 18m PlayedInitially I had rated this a slightly higher (70%) but upon reflection I was likely attributing too much of the base Fallout 4 into that rating and therefore I lowered it. It's certainly used to succeed in the necessary Speech checks, but it's also quite handy when trying to resolve conflict peacefully. Players can create the ultimate Charisma build for their Fallout 4 character if they wish to make the task of romancing Curie easier. However, players should note that Charisma is pretty important when building affinity with Curie. Successfully passing each Flirt challenge unlocks the “Romance” challenge, after which Curie falls in love with the Sole Survivor. With Curie seduced, the Sole Survivor can gain the “Lover’s Embrace” perk (+15% experience points for 12 hours) any time they sleep in a bed with Curie present. Once the dialogue options become available, players can choose to attempt the Speech check challenges required to “Flirt” with her. Once players have reached the maximum affinity with Curie (1000 points), they will receive her companion perk, “Combat Medic.” This perk allows the Sole Survivor to be healed by 100 Hit Points (HP) - once per day - immediately upon falling below 10% HP.įinally, maximum affinity unlocks romance options with Curie, who holds the honor of being one of the highest-ranked romances in Fallout 4. Players should note that Curie hates it if they choose to fulfill this request. At the end of the “Glowing Sea” quest: giving Brian Virgil the experimental serumĪdditionally, once enough quests have been completed for the Brotherhood of Steel or the Institute, both factions request that the Sole Survivor destroy The Railroad completely. While trapped in Cambridge Polymer Labs: avoiding the option to override the lockdown and, instead, completing the experiment by combining the U-238 with Gold and Lithium Hydride.Once players find The Railroad in Fallout 4: stating that the Sole Survivor would risk their lives to defend a synth. For the “In Sheep’s Clothing” quest: asking Curie to tend to Danny Sullivan’s wounds. At the “Swatters” store in Diamond City: informing Moe Cronin that baseball was not a violent sport.Constitution” quest: siding with the Ironsides against the scavengers In Diamond City’s Schoolhouse: speaking to Miss Edna about the importance of love. Some additional positive and negative choices include: One of the common misconceptions about Fallout 4 is that choices don't matter, but the companion system demonstrates how that's untrue. To increase affinity with Curie, the Sole Survivor must strive to be generous and peaceful throughout the Commonwealth. Choosing the “nice” dialogue options is a great way for the player to improve their relationship with Curie, but curiously, “mean” dialogue options can often help as well. Also of note is that points aren’t visible to players without the use of console commands. It’s important to note that her affinity cannot increase past 499 points until completing this quest, regardless of the number of “Curie liked that”/“Curie loved that” notifications that the player may receive. This Fallout 4 quest becomes available once the Sole Survivor reaches an affinity of at least 250 points with Curie. Once Curie is a companion, she will use her built-in buzzsaw and laser gun during combat unless the player transfers her personality and memory into a synth body during the “Emergent Behavior” companion quest.
